CSIRO operates several world-class radio telescopes that are used by its own astronomers and other astronomers from around Australia and all over the world.
CSIRO is building the Australian SKA Pathfinder telescope in Western Australia – a next-generation telescope, and a test-bed for technology for the giant international SKA telescope.
CSIRO also supports activities in space science and Earth observation, and operates the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (a spacecraft tracking station) on behalf of NASA.
